Student Information

Here's what you need to know before registering.

12th Graders

  • You can take the SAT in August, October, November, and December. You can take the ACT in July, September, October, and December. Classes start 5 to 6 weeks before the actual test date.
  • Some schools recommend or require at least 2 Subject tests. Subject tests are given on the same day that the SAT if offered so therefore you cannot take both.
  • If you scored below 500 on the SAT or below a 21 on your ACT Reading and English Tests, and you attend a Spanish speaking school, you may need to take the TOEFL. Please consult with your guidance counselor and if you do need to take the TOEFL, register at www.toefl.org.
  • If you want to try a free SAT, ACT, or SAT Subject Tests, contact us to set up an appointment.

11th Graders

  • You will take the PSAT in October. It is usually given the third week of October and your school will register you. The top scorers may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship and other scholarships. PSAT scores will also be used by some competitive summer programs so please prepare for it.
  • Most students will take the SAT/ACT in the spring. Some will take the test in the fall but we only recommend students to do that if they have prepared for it.
  • Our recommendation is that you take the test in March (SAT) or April (ACT), then May (Subject Tests) then June (ACT and/or SAT).
  • We recommend that students take the ACT/SAT twice in their third years and, if necessary, at least once in their fourth years.
  • If you want to try a free SAT, ACT, or SAT Subject Tests, contact us to set up an appointment.

  • Plan to take the SAT Subject Tests in the spring. If you need guidance as to
